Sean Fitz-Gerald of The National Post has what looks to be a final word from the Bertuzzi camp on the settlement of the Steve Moore case. Geoff Adair, Todd Bertuzzi’s high profile lawyer, is dismissing comments made by Steve Moore’s brother, doubting the case had been resolved:
“Mark Moore is not a party to this lawsuit and does not know what he is talking about nor is he very smart to have made untrue defamatory statements such as these,” Adair told the National Post on Thursday.
That’s as strong as you can get. On Wednesday, Mark Moore had cast doubt on the agreement, suggesting his brother wasn’t sure what to do.
Yesterday the Canucks issued their own statement, confirming what Adair had first confirmed to Ben Kuzma and others on Tuesday, that the deal was done.
A number of lawyers have pointed out on Twitter that deals get announced before final paperwork is signed all the time.
